LAHORE – Young Doctors Association (YDA) started their sit-in almost three days back when the members of the association took to road for the sake of their demands.
The young doctors demanded that security arrangements within Mayo Hospital should be improved besides security should also be provided to them.
However, despite the sit-in entering into third day, the provincial government is apparently in no mood to take any substantial step to meet their demands and on the contrary 15 doctors and 30 nurses have been dismissed from their posts.
In addition, the government vows to take more strenuous efforts in this regard as well.
According to latest reports, sit-in by the Young Doctors Association (YDC) at Club Chowk was still in progress and which is making situation more miserable for the locals owing to the road blockage henceforth. However, the young doctors have ended their emergency boycot.
Meanwhile, the sit-in has also been joined by contract employees of Water Management Punjab as they reached Club Chowk to join the young doctors. The contract employees have joined the show demanding that they should instead be made regular.
Owing to the recent protests, Mall Road has been proclaimed as “Ihtijaaj Road”.
