ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal said while commenting on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s decision to move the court on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) issue that it will create problems for the province itself.
He said that it is not suitable to use CPEC for their interests adding that foreign investment is not attracted through cases in courts; however, if the KP government wants to get satisfaction by moving the court, it cannot be prevented from it. Ahsan Iqbal said that projects being executed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will benefit the less developed and backward areas of the country.
In a statement, Ahsan Iqbal said no province is being deprived of its share in the project. He said construction work on the western route of the corridor is underway with full swing, and Gwadar-Quetta road will be completed before the stipulated time. Federal minister’s statement came after KPK decided to move to the court on CPEC issue.
