LAHORE: Students of intermediate belonging to different colleges hold protest demonstration on Thursday outside Lahore Press Club and Punjab Assembly against alleged miss-marking by Lahore Board in Intermediate part one annual examination. Chief Minister Punjab took notice of the matter and has asked for the report as soon as possible.
Hundreds of students chanted slogans against Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore and alleged that BISE has given marks to the students wrongfully. They also demanded complete re-checking of their papers instead of re-marking. They said that paper checkers of BISE has not only wrongfully marked their papers, but they must have left mistakes while checking.
Students of Punjab College, Government College University (GCU), Forman Christian College (FCC), Government College of Science Wahdat Road, Government College Civil Lines and many others participated in the protest.
It is pertinent to mention here that on October 10, BISE Lahore announced the result of Intermediate part Annual Examination. However, according to results around 59.12 as 77,780 out if 135,069 remain successful.
However, the protest also caused massive traffic jams in surrounding of LPC as people remained stuck in traffic for several hours. Problem was faced by people in reaching their desired places due to traffic blockage on The Mall, Davis Road, Abbot Road, Allama Iqbal Road, Edgerton Road, Police Lines and many other roads.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the issue and asked for the report by concerned officials. He has asked the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) secretary to submit the report after inquiring the matter properly.
The protestors continued their protest till the filing of this report.
