Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided for not attending sit-in to be staged by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) from June 17 in connection with Model town incident.
A faction of PTI had suggested for staying away from PAT sit-in, considering the prevailing situation while another faction is of the opinion that cooperation is must with PAT for the sake of success of PTI’s anti-government movement that is scheduled to be launched after Eid. The second faction thinks that it is necessary so that both the parties could mount pressure on the government with their street power.
Sources have said that after taking the situation into consideration it had been decided that PTI chief Imran Khan will not participate in the sit-in but other leaders of PTI including Chaudhry Sarwar will take part in PAT dharna to express solidarity. However, PTI as a party will not participate in sit in.
