RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Saturday said that the next phase of ‘Qisas March’ would be held in Raiwind, but its date would be announced with mutual consent.
Addressing the charged party workers, who had come to attend the final stage of the first phase of the retribution rally, the PAT chief said, “If we want to get justice for the victims of Model Town tragedy, we can do it in a week.” He, however, said, “We are peaceful protesters and will not break the law.”
He held Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif and some ministers, without mentioning their names, responsible for killings in Model Town. He also asked Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif to “fulfil his promise of help in getting justice for the victims of Model Town tragedy”.
“The PM and the Punjab CM are Indian agents, as loads of workers at their sugar mills were Indian national… Corrupt rulers are posing a real threat to the sovereignty of the country,” he added.
Qadri said the PML-N government was resorting to the worst dictatorship in the name of democracy. He also criticised state institutions over their failure to probe the alleged corruption of the Sharifs.
Talking to the media before leading the rally, the PAT chief said the corrupt rulers had plundered national wealth and built offshore companies and properties abroad.
He said the rulers made the country buckle under a huge burden of debts, adding that they were printing currency notes worth more than Rs 5.25 billion every day.
